About

Petra is passionate about recycling. Her late father was an upholsterer and as a child she would watch him with a mouthful of tacks and a roll of fabric turn a disaster into a delight. Using his old Singer, she made bags and soft toys sometimes using hessian which she  still uses today.

When Petra was 18 and travelling abroad, she was approached in Memphis to make up her designs for the now late country singer Charlie Rich. By reconstructing used washed blue jeans into stage wear for his entourage, she realised that everything made from something recycled is bound to be unique and special.

Petra took her Arts degree in 1997 ( Design Arts with Theatre Arts studied) and straight afterwards  took an open studio at Cockington Court in Torquay. Much of her work went to Ireland, Germany, America, New Zealand and Australia.
